I played it again, as soon as I could.
I can't help it--I love the game so much. It's too addicting.
And I wanted to see Midna for the "first" time again. x3
Back now.

I played a second runthrough when I first joined the site. My primary goal was to listen to the music and gain ideas for my early songs.

I first played Twilight Princess on the Wii, in the first file. I made it to RIGHT OUTSIDE THE FINAL BOSS DOOR, and STOPPED PLAYING. I just didn't think I was ready to fight the final battle and see how the game ended yet. Later (a few months after), I played through Twilight Princess again on my gamecube version. I did the EXACT SAME THING I did with my first Wii file. Then, I don't know how much long later, I played through the game on my Wii on the third file (my brother was using the second, but hasen't played in months), and beat it. I then googled 'Midna', and joined this forum the next evening. I voted a few months, but that only applies to one of them.

I waited awhile. I had known what was already coming when I first played it cause of all the spoilers on the internet but it chokes me up everytime I see midna smile at link and slowly disintegrate into the twilight realm and the mirror shatters. I downloaded to cutscenes to make vids and it gets to me everytime. But I'm gonna go through the game again to ty and see how long it takes me to beat it without help and I also want to write down everything midna says in the game. Tht's gonna be difficult.

When I got to hyrule castle I spent like a week just going around doing side stuff and just basically playing around.

I knew most of the plot before I even started playing the game for the first time, a mere 6 days ago. But the more I played, the more significant the ending became to me. After I got to the mirror chamber, and watched the first cut scene in the twilight realm, I couldn't continue down the road I knew would separate me and Midna. I immediately warped to the west gate and happily trampled around Hyrule field as a wolf with her on my back!
Actually, I even started a second log, just so I could go through it all with her again, without even bringing the first to a close. But I've recently found a very well written piece of fanfic that could bring me back from the depression that would ensue from the completing the game, so I think I may finish it this weekend when I have the time to read through the equivalent of a few hundred pages of a .doc file. And I'm looking forward to the scene just after Midna breaks through the castle barrier...

I played Twilight Princess somewhere around 2007-08 for the first time. I didnt pick it up again since then. I think now that I look back that I was just in a state of shock and disbelief that she left. I dont think I realized though until two weeks ago when I looked Midna up on Wikpedia just how much impact that game had on me. I confess Ive spilled tears over it since then. I had a hard time picturing me playing it through to the end one more time, since I know now that she leaves and well, I think a part of my heart broke as well when she shattered the mirror.
But, Ive picked it up again as we speak and I`m currently at the part after the Lakebed Temple heading for the Gerudo Desert. There were times though when I could see the spires from the Arbiter`s Grounds in the distance that I felt like putting it away again, because thats where it ends. This sounds like a sappy post, but there you have it. Guess I`ll need a tissue when I reach the end this time.

You know, that's pretty interesting. The typical trend around here is that people hit an immense state of shock and outpouring of emotion right after completing the game, which slowly fades to a mild fandom after coming off that high point. I know I was that way. But for whatever reason, it's like you ignored and forgot about the shock as a means of coping with it, and now years later after most of us have gotten over it, it's just starting to show up. Good luck on this playthrough man; it should be more emotionally fulfilling at least, if not more traumatic. Talking with you on here might even give some of us a chance to relive that whole ordeal.

I fall into the category of those who don't dare to start it over again. It is just that my feeling is that I can't get the same feeling again by playing it once again, as it was the first time. Twilight princess indeed is some special game, because, well I haven't seen a game to cause such emotions and even to so many of its players. Before playing the TP, I would't have believed if someone said that there will be game, which will make you, after completing it, speechlessly watch ending screen minute after minute just thinking: It can't be over! It CAN'T! (as happened to me) I just can't start it again...
