It's time for more of "UNRiDDLED giving you grief for not playing a good game, and you should be ashamed of yourself."
How many of you have played the wonderful game "Alundra"?
No one? Shame on you... Now that that's out of the way...
The Game: Alundra is... well... Zelda with a T rating... Much like LttP with better graphics and you can jump on command. Much like Zelda you play as a lone, quite silent, protagonist... the focus of the game revolves around exploration, puzzle solving, etc. Also akin to LoZ, the dungeons you explore throughout the game tend to rely on a specific item that you find within said dungeon to solve the various puzzles and progress deeper. Alundra puts more emphasis on puzzles than Zelda. The puzzles are a nice challenge, but that's not to say that the bosses are anything to scoff at... At it's core it's a great game with a good challenge that will test you and your puzzle solving skills...
The Story: You play as Alundra. You were lead to a small village by the name of Inoa by a man named Lars whom you've met in your dreams, but once you arrive you find that the small happy village of Inoa is plagued by a terrible curse. If a villager has a nightmare while he/she slumbers they may never wake again. Shortly after discovering this, you learn that you are able to enter other people's dreams from which you can battle their nightmares and possibly save the village, and thus you seek to find out why and how these nightmares are happening.
The game is quite dark... and only gets darker as you progress through the game, the story is fantastic, and battling nightmares despite being done in a colorful 2-D world can test one's nerves...
Oh did I mention the nightmare stages have one of the single most creepy themes ever?
Do listen to this... it's a real treat...
This game is quite the legend... Treat yourself to this game...
You can purchase this game on PSN if you want to fix that Zelda itch! This game can be quite the head scratcher.
