Come here to discuss all things current-gen, as well as what's happening on the gaming scene.

Competitve Friendly Gaming

Postby LightWorldMidna » Mon Jun 25, 2012 6:02 pm

You probably don't know what I mean. Here - there are games that are designed to be 'child friendly' in a way, with no serious violence, blah blah blah, such as Mario Kart and Super Mario Bros. I call them friendly games. Heck, even games like SSBB kinda count here.
So, in any 'friendly' (or not so friendly, in SSBB's case) games that get you so competitve you swear at your friends/siblings/Wi-Fi buddies just because you're loosing?

I know I do. Not sware, usually, but SSBB can get me really worked up. Mario Kart can make me chuck a Wii wheel across the room (parly because I don't like them, because their design is crap, but that's another topic entirely...). Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games can have me hitting my brother over the head with my WiiMote...
My firend, who never swares, invited me and two other friends to hers on a day we had a teacher strike. We had a game of Mario Kart (which I hadn't got at this point) and she kept winning, hands down. One race, ONE race, I was in front of her, and she yelled (I quote, accurately, obscenities and all) "Get the fuck out of my way, bitch!" Geez. We were all wide eyed stares like someone had just told us Santa and the Tooth Fairy were not real and that we were all adopted, all at once O.O

So, which games get you so competitive? Have any stories? :D
It's about time I got a new signature but I have nothing to put in it so here

just out of curiosity what is your SSBB code? Anyways I think the game that gets me worked up the most, is the SSB series. Any other game is just not a problem for me. :P Although I did get frustrated at New Super MArio Bros. Wii for the ending. I died at least 20 times before I beat the boss. Man its good to have 70 lives.

the manga in the Hyrule historia makes some sense, but all in all I was confused.

Damned if I know. If you want a Wi-fi brawl with me or something sometime, I'm sure I could be half-arsed to get up and find out  I used to have my Mario Kart code to hand a while back, but that's fallen into the deep, black abyss of 'no reason to look for'. It's probably in a notebook somewhere.

And 70 lives sounds very useful...

I'm extremely competitive with FM2, 3, and 4. Don't blame me, I evolve to survive in the environments I'm exposed to.

We all know I'm a competitive Pokemon player here. I started about October last year in the competitive scene took a break and this month I got back into it. And from there I started actually getting more into it. Generating specific pokemon for specific teams, Learning the power of prediction (Which is mainly a game of what I would do against myself in their situation.) and wrecking face with a gengar that isn't supposed to wreck face.

I'm also highly competitive in most fighting games. Guilty Gear, Blazblue, and soon to be Persona 4 Arena.

Here today, Maybe tomorrow...

I'm competitive in just about anything that has multiplayer... I don't get pissy with the people I'm playing with and it takes a lot to get me cranky... Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 manages to get me a tad miffed due to various balance issues and the "First to hit and not drop the combo wins" Mechanics...
As a general rule if I start to feel even a little "hot under the collar" I take a break... but no matter how mad I get I don't get physical, or take it out on anyone around me... At most I curse a little...
I'd like to get into competitive pokemon, but I can't atm...
And Shota... I should have a copy of BB:CS EX in a couple of days so keep an eye out... I hope you've been practicing...
I think I mentioned this at some point... but I won my copy of LoZ:SS at a small SSBB tournament...

Is Brawl playable online now? If so I'd like to give it a go as well...
My code is different since it's not my Wii... but it's "1893-1925-6179"
I set the profile name as "Jewel" If that's important...

It's always been avalible online. Maybe we can set up a time where all of us can play at the same time. My code is in the code thread I think. I'll post it ASAP

Edit: I added you unriddled.

I know it's been available, but when the game first came out you needed to wait 3 years for the game to register an input...
Then again my internet was much worse than it is now...
