Anyone here ever play Myst? I think it would be awesome if Cyan got together with Nintendo to make some Uber (spelled with a accent Trema above it, I know, I know) hard dungeons.
Space... The final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship,
Enterprise it's five year
mission, to explore strange, new worlds, seek out new life and civilzations..
TO BODLY GO
WHERE NO MAN HAS GONE BEFORE...
Is wayyyyy better than

and^ is pretty damn good.

Sorry, never played it. What's it like?
When Midna left, she left me in shock and dismay When Midna returns, I think of that very day The Feelings of Midna I wonder, will they last? The Feelings of Midna I wonder, leave me ever so fastI do not usually write poetry, however, these words came instantly--why waste them? If you wish to converse with me, PM me with a legitimate title.

I've played it before, at least the first and fourth ones. I have a hard time focusing on it for any period of time, but it's definitely a really cool series.
Sounds like Yitik needs to get in here, he's the real Myst fan here.

Never...heard...? *headsplosion* CS called it. I'm a Myst fanatic. I've beaten all six games (seven, including RealMyst) and nearly cried when MOUL went down for the last time. I speak fluent D'ni, own all the books, and am avidly following the upcoming movie (yes, movie). We, my friend, have much to discuss . Cyan is excellent at making dungeons, but unfortunately are in a really bad financial position right now, as their latest projects have gone bust. They only have about nine people on staff right now. However, thinking about Nintendo here, it might be a good idea for them to get Cyan up there. They straddle the line between casual and hardcore - basically, Myst invites everyone to play, but only a small fraction actually has the skill to get past Myst Island. The company's known for breaking boundaries, just like Nintendo, and for making very difficult games. This is just what hardcore gamers have been wanting, so I think a bit of a partnership could go a long way. I would personally wet myself if Cyan was to help work on the next Zelda game.

Oh man, if they helped with level design in the next Zelda... it's almost too good to be true, it would be so amazing. I feel bad that such a talented group of developers is so underappreciated.
I kind of feel like popping in Myst IV again...

It's an uber puzzle game where the only solution to things is to bang your head on the keyboard No, but it is uber hard.

Yes, it can be pretty challenging. A lot of times, for me at least, the solution to get through part of a level requires either a really good memory, some copious note taking, or trial and error (not recommended in most cases ). It's very easy to get hopelessly stuck, but when you do figure something out, it's extremely satisfying.

Notetaking is essential, yes. I usually have several pages covered of notes, even just playing the first game (you should've seen my Riven notebook ). But I've never played a more satisfying series in my life; even just getting past one area will make you feel great for at least the rest of the day.
