Perhaps. I mean, it's better than complete closure of registration considering we're a community that thrives (really) on numbers.

Uh, then that would render all the people who get in here via links such as, oh, I don't know, the incredibly popular one in ZeldaWiki, or via our numberous affiliates, completely unable to join. How nice.

No, registration is closed for the time being. It won't be closed long. No need to act as though we're ending the growth of the community altogether.

And we're really not hiring new admins just for the sake of that.

Argh, yeah. Forgetting this site has covered far more ground than a typical fan forum. Man, first comes the Purge, then the server switch, and now WMB becomes GBS (GET BOT SPAM)...what's next? Hackers making our site the complete opposite of what we want?

This has happened before. We just didn't have a lulzy topic involving spastic administrators to advertise it. We solved it the same way we're doing now.

Also, just put into effect Pud's idea. A few modifications: a new user is anyone with less than 10 posts, and they can post in any board they like, but can only start new threads in WWMB. We'll see if that solves anything. Though I will say I still hate having spambots here period, even if they never post. It's unsanitary.

Won't help much since spambots can make threads and replies too, so...yeah. It won't stop them from annoying. Oh well. We'd hope we have more janitors to clean them up when they appear.

Eerrmm I think that like half of the spambots post in already existing threads, only some create ones of their own. Did I get this right?
